

The RICS Building Carbon Database
In December the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors launched a new and publicly available dataset that lists the embodied carbon associated a building. The data set has been commissioned by WRAP and the UK Green Building Council. The dataset provides an indication of the carbon footprint of a whole building based on type and can be used to calculate the emissions generated at each stage of the construction process. The Overheating Problem
Although it may not feel like it during the cold January days, overheating in buildings in the UK is an ever-growing problem. A key reason for this is the improved building fabric standards, which are designed keep the building warm in winter, but prevent a building effectively losing heat during summer. Brighton2Brussels Docufilm
In May 2018 a set of cyclists set off to take on the amazing challenge of cycling from Brussels to Brighton. Among these was JAW's very own Lucy! The team cycled approximately 150 miles within 4 days raising money for the following charities: Albion in the Community, Martlets Hospice, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, RISE and The Sussex Heart Charity.
