Coal Drops Yard
These past couple of weeks have been very exciting here at JAW as we have seen the opening of one of our projects, Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross!
Coal Drops Yard was built during the 1850s as a marshalling yard, where coal was transferred from the railway to the road. The Victorian architecture has remained and since then has housed studios, workshops and nightclubs.
Today Coal Drops Yard has experienced a major restoration in order to become a series of novel retail units, including boutique shops, bars and restaurants which opened for business on the 26th October.
JAW worked closely with the developers, Argent, to complete the Energy Performance Certificates for all the retail units in order to meet the EU building directive and MEES regulations.
JAW Directors, Jess and Lucy, attended the opening party and experienced first-hand the unique architecture and atmosphere created by the historic venue. We are very pleased to have played a role in such an exciting development.
