Graduate Sustainability Consultant Position

JAW Sustainability is a sustainability consultancy company in the construction and property industry. We provide a range of services including building performance modelling, covering energy and carbon, overheating and thermal comfort and daylight and sunlight modelling. We also undertake embodied carbon analysis, LCAs and circular economy reporting. We are involved in all the environmental and wellbeing assessments including BREEAM, LEED, Ska, WELL & Fitwell. We work closely with our clients from our office in Hoxton, working on projects, across London and the rest of the UK.

The company was founded 6 years ago and has been going from strength to strength. We have been growing rapidly over the last year and are currently a team of eight, which we expect to continue to expand over the coming year and beyond.

We are looking for a new Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our team and help us continue to deliver a high-quality service to our clients and grow the environmental assessment side of the business. The role would suit an ambitious individual who could grow with the company.

The role of Graduate Sustainability Consultant will include the following:

  • Conduct building performance modelling for a variety of building types including energy performance and overheating

  • Supporting in the preparation of sustainability and energy reports to accompany planning applications

  • Modelling of developments to conduct other sustainability related assessments, such as thermal comfort, daylight and life cycle assessments, in order to support planning and BREEAM assessment

  • Providing advice to design teams on achieving compliance with sustainability requirements, including attendance at meetings

  • Preparing high quality written reports for clients and certification bodies

Required experience / skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a subject related to engineering, sustainability or the built environment

  • Experience using building performance modelling software, such as IESVE or similar

  • Experience using drawing software, such as AutoCAD

  • Demonstrable interest in building sustainability

  • Basic understanding of building services

  • Experience with the use of MS Excel

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Highly analytical, with ability to review and understand technical information

  • Attention to detail

  • Enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills
