JAW Sustainability is a sustainability consultancy company in the construction and property industry. We are involved in all of the environmental and wellbeing assessments including BREEAM, LEED, Ska, WELL & Fitwel. We also conduct building performance modelling, covering energy and carbon, overheating and thermal comfort and daylight and sunlight modelling. We also undertake embodied carbon analyses, LCAs and circular economy reporting. We work closely with our clients from our office in Hoxton, working on projects across London and the rest of the UK.

The company was founded 6 years ago and has been going from strength to strength. We have been growing rapidly over the last year and are currently a team of thirteen, which we expect to continue to expand over the coming year and beyond.

We are looking for a new Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our team and help us continue to deliver a high-quality service to our clients and grow the environmental assessment side of the business. The role would suit an ambitious individual who could grow with the company. We are looking for someone to start with immediate effect whilst respecting any notice period.

The role of Graduate Sustainability Consultant will include the following:

  • Conducting residential energy modelling for the provision of Part L reporting

  • Supporting and undertaking BREEAM Assessments including producing technical documents for BREEAM, and reviewing technical evidence for compliance

  • Working with other sustainability standards including LEED, Ska, WELL and FitWel projects across a range of sectors

  • Working closely with design teams providing advice on achieving compliance with sustainability requirements

  • Working with contractors to ensure delivery of sustainability requirements on site and collation of correct data

  • Preparing high quality written reports for clients and certification bodies

  • Reviewing local planning policies to aid the delivery of sustainability reports for planning applications

Required experience / skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a subject related to sustainability or the built environment

  • Demonstrable interest in building sustainability

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Highly analytical and attention to detail, with the ability to review and understand technical information

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, Excel in particular

  • Enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills

Beneficial experience:

  • Previous experience undertaking residential energy modelling

  • Knowledge of BREEAM or any other environmental assessment

  • Work experience in the sustainability or construction industry
