JAW is hiring for a Sustainability Consultant!

JAW Sustainability is a sustainability consultancy company in the construction and property industry. We provide a range of services including building performance modelling, covering energy and carbon, overheating and thermal comfort and daylight and sunlight modelling. We also undertake embodied carbon analysis, LCAs and circular economy reporting. We are involved in all the environmental and wellbeing assessments including BREEAM, LEED, Ska, WELL & Fitwell. We work closely with our clients from our office in Hoxton, working on projects, across London and the rest of the UK.

The company was founded 6 years ago and has been going from strength to strength. We have been growing rapidly over the last year and are currently a team of eight, which we expect to continue to expand over the coming year and beyond.

We are looking for a new Sustainability Consultant to join our team and help us continue to deliver a high-quality service to our clients and grow the environmental assessment and residential energy side of the business. The role would suit an ambitious individual who could grow with the company.

The role of the Sustainability Consultant will include following:

  • Conducting BREEAM, LEED & WELL assessments, from early concept design stages through to completion

  • Conducting residential energy modelling & producing sustainability and energy reports to accompany planning applications and demonstrate Part L compliance

  • Working closely with clients to produce sustainability assessments which are tailored to the development and meet desired client outcomes

  • Preparing various high quality reports for clients and certification bodies

  • Leading workshops and meetings with clients

  • Completing ESG reporting

Required experience / skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a subject related to engineering, sustainability or the built environment

  • Demonstratable interest in certifications in the built environment

  • Demonstratable interest in residential energy

  • Basic understanding of sustainable construction

  • Experience with the use of MS Excel

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Highly analytical, with ability to review and understand technical information

  • Attention to detail

  • Enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills

Desired experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the sustainability or energy sector

  • Using SAP / producing EPCs

  • Experience working with BREEAM, WELL or LEED
