Alice Thwaites-Rice

Senior Sustainability Consultant

Alice joined JAW in November 2021 after graduating from King’s College London with an MSc in in Climate Change.


Alice’s interest in the natural world was developed during her bachelor studies in environmental science, where she completed field research in Honduras and realised her interest in climate change mitigation and resilience. Alice pursued further climate research at King’s where she realised her passion for innovation and sustainability in the built environment that would support the world’s transition to an uncertain future in the face of climate change. Her experience in research projects and master’s led her to pursue a career in sustainability.


Alice is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) and WELL Accredited Professional (AP). At JAW Alice undertakes residential energy assessments for the provision of Part L reporting through early planning stages to post construction EPCs and has completed a range of energy assessments, from single family dwellings to 300 unit residential developments in central London. Alice is experienced in Part L reporting for listed properties, change of use, refurbishment, extensions and new build projects.


Alice also leads on a range of BREEAM assessments for refurbishment and fit out, and new construction projects throughout London and has delivered BREEAM on a range of developments, including an animal hospital, offices, a public art gallery and student halls. Alice also provides contractor support to assist contractors in delivering their BREEAM responsibilities during and post construction. As a WELL AP, Alice is also responsible for delivering WELL assessments for a range of clients and assisting contractors undertaking WELL Enabled, WELL Core and WELL Owner Occupied certification - guiding them through the certification process and ensuring their ESG targets are met.
