Dilshad Roshan

Dilshad graduated from the University of Westminster with a masters in architecture and environmental design in 2022. During his masters, he developed a strong understanding of environmental design, carbon emissions, energy performance, thermal comfort, and occupant health and wellbeing. His academic work provided him with a solid foundation in sustainable design strategies and the role of building performance analysis in creating low-carbon, comfortable and resilient buildings.

Prior to completing his master’s degree, Dilshad worked as an architect for three years, gaining valuable experience in architectural design, project coordination and the wider construction process. This professional background gave him first-hand insight into how design decisions can influence building performance, occupant comfort and environmental impact. His experience in architectural practice also strengthened his interest in sustainability and motivated him to further specialise in environmental design and building performance within the construction industry.

At JAW Sustainability, Dilshad is part of the Building Physics team, where he supports the delivery of energy strategies and building performance assessments through Dynamic Thermal Modelling. His work includes operational energy modelling in accordance with CIBSE TM54, helping to inform energy strategies at the planning stage and assess how buildings are expected to perform in operation. He is also involved in a range of technical assessments, including BREEAM assessments, overheating analysis, daylight assessments and thermal comfort studies.

Through his combined architectural and sustainability background, Dilshad brings a strong understanding of both design intent and technical performance requirements. He supports project teams in developing practical and effective strategies that improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and enhance internal environmental quality. Dilshad is a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant (LCC) and a BREEAM Approved Graduate, reflecting his continued commitment to low-carbon design and sustainable building performance.
