Omar Almeida
Sustainability Consultant
Omar joined JAW in June 2024, bringing with him extensive experience in guiding clients through design and construction processes. He holds a Master's degree in Energy Systems Engineering from The National University of Galway in Ireland, where he developed a keen interest in Building Physics.
Omar's passion for sustainability began during an internship at a startup, where he assisted in calculating energy consumption for residential and office developments. He further worked as an Energy and Sustainability Consultant in a company where he worked across wide range of projects in order to make a positive impact on the environment through his work.
Here at JAW, Omar conducts energy modelling on commercial buildings to inform energy strategies for planning. He also uses dynamic thermal modelling of both residential and commercial buildings to inform overheating and thermal comfort analysis, for planning and BREEAM. Further, he uses building modelling to conduct a range of other services at JAW, such as internal daylight assessments and external overshadowing assessments.
