Omar Almeida

Omar joined JAW Sustainability in June 2024, bringing strong foundation of experience in building physics, dynamic energy modelling, and sustainability consultancy developed across Ireland and the United Kingdom. He holds a Master of Engineering degree in Energy Systems Engineering from the University of Galway, where he developed an interest in building performance simulation and low carbon design.

Omar's expertise spans the full length of the built environment, from new build residential and commercial developments to existing building refurbishments and fit-out projects. He is a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant (LCC) and an accredited WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP), with direct project experience across WELL, BREEAM, and LEED certification frameworks. These credentials underpin his ability to deliver technically rigorous, health focused, and sustainability led solutions across a wide range of project types and sectors.

At JAW Sustainability, Omar leads the delivery of dynamic thermal modelling and energy assessment services across non-residential and residential projects. His work encompasses operational energy modelling in accordance with CIBSE TM54 to support energy strategies at planning stage, dynamic overheating and thermal comfort analysis for both planning submissions and BREEAM compliance, internal daylight assessments and external overshadowing studies, and BREEAM technical support across design and construction stages. His proficiency with IESVE enables him to produce high quality, evidence based outputs that are clearly communicated to design teams, clients, and planning authorities, ensuring projects meet performance and compliance requirements.
