Sreekanth Kumar

Senior Sustainability Consultant

Sreekanth graduated from the University of Sheffield with a masters in sustainable architecture studies in 2022. During his degree he focused on sustainable design strategies, renewable energy, and embodied carbon calculations. His thesis was on the urban heat island phenomenon, where he selected the city of Manchester as the study location. Prior to studying his master’s degree, Sreekanth worked as an architect, and knowledge he gained during this period helped him better understand the need for a more sustainable approach to construction

Since joining JAW, Sreekanth has accumulated applied expertise in materials, waste and carbon consultancy. He is proficient in One Click LCA, which he uses regularly to conduct whole life carbon and lifecycle assessments for residential and mixed-use developments in accordance with RICS and UKGBC guidance.

Sreekanth leads the delivery of circular economy statements for planning applications, advising clients on material reuse, responsible sourcing, and circular design principles. He conducts and oversees pre-demolition audits and prepares site and operational waste management plans across a range of project types. He contributes to BREEAM assessments with a focus on materials and waste credits and undertakes PSI value calculations for thermal bridging assessments. Beyond his day-to-day project delivery, Sreekanth designed and established JAW Sustainability’s early-stage environmental analysis service using the Ladybug suite of environmental tools within the Rhino3D CAD software, a capability now embedded in the Materials and Waste team’s standard service offering.
