Microgrids making the world more sustainable
“A microgrid is a decentralized group of electricity sources and loads that normally operates connected to and synchronous with the traditional wide area synchronous grid but is able to disconnect from the interconnected grid and to function autonomously in "island mode" as technical or economic conditions dictate.” Microgrids often run off renewable energy and can provide electricity to a small area, such as a city block or a small village Microgrid technology can be harness

$500 Billion Green Linear City
Saudi Arabia is attempting to build a green city which will have net zero carbon emission, located in the middle of the dessert. The city is designed to be a 106-mile straight line operating with no cars and with a high-speed transit system, that will allow for a ‘belt of hyperconnected communities’, which will all be powered by 100% clean energy. The city will operate on three levels, the surface layer for pedestrians and two subterranean layers for transportation and infra

The Green Steel of the 21st Century
Bamboo is an incredibly versatile material, which makes it an attractive alternative for construction projects, due to its high strength to weight ratio which is on parr with timber and its lightness and flexibility. As a result of bamboos strength, it is often used as scaffolding in many parts of the world in Asia and South America. Bamboo is an environmentally and sustainable building alternative to steel being able to sequester large amounts of carbon from the atmosphere.

New Additions...
I've joined the team here at JAW Sustainability as the new Administrative Assistant; and I love it here already. I have two names: Sadiha and Neha – although I do prefer Neha, I don’t mind either! I’m 19 years old, and a proud Muslim British Bangladeshi, who has recently just completed the first year of her Politics and Sociology undergraduate degree at the University of Warwick. I’m a keen and inquisitive individual looking to explore different industries before choosing one
