Daylight and Sunlight Assessments

We can provide Daylight and Sunlight Assessments specified by many councils for planning. A Daylight and Sunlight Assessment is required when proposed buildings may negatively influence the existing daylight of neighbouring properties.

The assessment will be based on a 3 dimensional model and will be undertaken in line with the BRE Guide- ‘Site layout planning for daylight and sunlight: A guide to good practice, 2011- 2nd edition’ (2011) and British Standard BS 8206-02 ‘Lighting for buildings – Part2: Code of practice for daylighting’ (2008).

Using the model we can also provide Internal Average Daylight Factor (ADF) calculations.
